Breeders
know that the most vital aspect to their program is acquiring good mares.
These mothers (dams) must prove to be easy to get in foal, be capable
of carrying the pregnancy to term, and be smart and diligent enough
to take good care of their foals. Furthermore, they must have the kind
of personality which produces bold and confident foals with good manners
and with an affection and interest in their handlers and the people
around them. Certainly, these mares must be endowed with the physical
attributes that produce foals that are strong, correct, and athletic
with good minds and attitudes.
With
all that in mind, Breezeway Farm would like to dedicate this page to
Calico Cat
"Callie" came to our farm in March,
1990. She was foaled May 22, 1987 and is by Chief Executive (APHA) and
out of Swift's Whirlwind (TB). She is a beautiful bay tobiano and stands
15 hands. On March 11, 2003 she had her tenth foal...and her seventh
by Medicine Man ---a bay roan filly whom we have named Jasmine. Callie
has been the cornerstone of our breeding program and has produced some
fabulous babies.
